Potato Cyst Nematode Soil Survey
During September, October and November 2011, as part of the National PCN survey, a total of 1,177 - five pound soil samples were collected from potato fields across the state. Fields were sampled in 5 potato producing counties. Nebraska annually produces in excess of 5,000 acres of seed potatoes and 20,000 acres of tablestock/processing potatoes. All samples were sent to the USDA Idaho Fall PCN laboratory for PCN (Globodera pallida and Globodera rostochiensis), and results were negative.
