In 2011, a total of 80 fields were surveyed for cereal leaf beetle, in 20 counties. Survey for cereal leaf beetle took place in oat and wheat growing areas, primarily in southern and western Nebraska. Cereal leaf beetle was not found in Nebraska. This insect is found in Kansas, Iowa, and Missouri. If cereal leaf beetle is found, a biological control program could be initiated.
