| Governor Dave Heineman and NDA Director Greg Ibach participated in a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Paul and Deb Segner farm to open their new business a 1,200 head grow-finish swine building. The operation is projected to annually generate more than $113,000 of local economic activity. |

| Following the ribbon cutting, area pork producers and members of the public discussed The Nebraska Model for Pork Production with representatives of the Nebraska Pork Producers and the Segner family who co-sponsored the event. Around 200 people attended the ceremony. |

| Governor Heineman and Director Ibach were able to discuss the pork industry with those in attendance. "I am always excited to see a new agricultural operation in Nebraska," Governor Heineman said. "Agriculture is the backbone of this state, and when agriculture does well, so do the main streets in small communities in Nebraska." |
