| January's "Agricultural Adventure" found Governor Dave Heineman touring Double Dutch Dairy in Shelby. Representatives from the Nebraska Department of Agriculture, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, the American Dairy Association/Dairy Council of Nebraska, and the Nebraska Corn Board, along with several Nebraska dairy producers toured the facility with the Governor. |

| Double Dutch Dairy is owned and operated by Mr. Todd Tuls. The dairy began operation in Nebraska in 2000, and just recently went through an expansion. The dairy currently milks 3,600 cows three times a day, and is considered one of the largest employers in Polk County. |

| There are approximately 60,000 cows located on 421 dairy farms in Nebraska. Those animals produced over one billion pounds of milk in 2005. |
