LINCOLN - The Nebraska Department of Agriculture is now accepting applications for the Nebraska Agricultural Youth Council (NAYC).

The NAYC is comprised of college-age men and women who are responsible for coordinating numerous agricultural learning experiences for Nebraska youth, including a farm tour for urban youth and the Nebraska Agricultural Youth Institute (NAYI).

"We are looking for individuals that show a strong interest in, and an understanding of, the agricultural industry," said NDA Director Greg Ibach.

An informational meeting will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2007, beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the Lower Level A Conference Room of the Nebraska State Office Building. Applications will be distributed at the meeting.
