agriculture through advocacy and education."
To carry out our mission, we:
- Ensure that nursery stock is healthy and free from quarantine plant pests before being
shipped to markets in and out of state;
- Detect and control or eradicate serious plant pests;
- Ensure that honey bee colonies are free of diseases and parasites;
- Facilitate the movement and foreign export of Nebraska plants and plant products;
- Regulate and ensure the safety of feeds for production and maintenance of commercial
animals;
- Ensure that commercial feeds and fertilizers meet label guarantees;
- Regulate the sale and use of pesticide products and investigate incidents involving possible
pesticide misuse;
- Test and license pesticide applicators to ensure proper training in the handling and use of
pesticide products;
- Designate what plants are considered noxious in Nebraska and what control measures can be
used to eradicate or control their spread;
- Monitor and evaluate the implementation of county noxious weed programs; and
- Provide for the collection and testing of agriculture and lawn seeds.
